The Race

8th Edition – 3 distances

May 03, 2026

On this trail, you will be amazed as you walk along the trails and mountains surrounding the impressive archaeological complex of Chavín de Huántar, built by the Chavín culture more than 2,200 years ago. This place hides a fascinating part of our pre-Incan heritage, and you will feel the enigmatic energy of the Chavín culture at every step.

One of the most exciting moments of this event is culminating in the ruins of Chavín de Huántar itself, the epicenter of one of the most influential civilizations of antiquity.

Typically done as a three-day trek, accompanied by llamas, this 45km route crosses the Andes from west to east, traversing a high mountain pass at Punta Yanashallash (4,700 m).
